The hike to the Steppe Viewpoints in Patagonia is a fascinating experience that combines history, nature, and breathtaking landscapes. Your adventure begins at the Sarmiento Entrance, where you'll start a one-hour hike to a rock overhang. This site features rocks paintings that are over 6,000 years old and was frequented by the Aonikenk or Tehuelche people, the area's native inhabitants. Here, you will have the chance to learn about Patagonia\u2019s rich cultural history.\nAfter exploring the site, you\u2019ll descend from the overhang and walk across the Patagonian steppe for about two hours. This stretch allows you to immerse yourself in the open landscape and observe native flora and fauna. At the end of this trail, the driver will be waiting to continue the adventure.\nOnce in the vehicle, you\u2019ll head toward Laguna Azul, where you can enjoy lunch and use restroom facilities. Along the way, you may spot large groups of guanacos as well as other species such as rheas, grey foxes, condors, and black-chested buzzard-eagles, adding a touch of wildlife to the experience.\nAfter recharging, you\u2019ll continue into the park for the final hike. This two-hour trail winds through pre-Andean shrub vegetation, offering spectacular views of the Paine Horns and Almirante Nieto massif.\nUpon reaching the destination, you'll descend to the shore of Lake Sarmiento, where you\u2019ll have the chance to explore incredible calcium carbonate rock formations formed over time. This location is not only photogenic but also a geological highlight that showcases Patagonia\u2019s natural beauty.\nAt the end of the hike, you\u2019ll return to Puerto Natales, concluding a day filled with history, exploration, and stunning landscapes.<\/p>

Luego de explorar este sitio, descender\u00e1s del alero y caminar\u00e1s por la estepa patag\u00f3nica durante unas dos horas. Este tramo te permitir\u00e1 sumergirte en el paisaje abierto y observar la flora y fauna aut\u00f3ctona. Al final de este trayecto, llegar\u00e1s a la S, donde un conductor te estar\u00e1 esperando para continuar con la aventura.<\/p>

Una vez en el transfer, te dirigir\u00e1s hacia Laguna Azul, donde podr\u00e1s disfrutar de un almuerzo y utilizar el servicio higi\u00e9nico. Durante el trayecto, es posible observar grandes grupos de guanacos, as\u00ed como otras especies como el \u00f1and\u00fa, el zorro gris, el c\u00f3ndor y el \u00e1guila mora, que a\u00f1aden un toque de vida salvaje a la experiencia.<\/p>

Despu\u00e9s de recargar energ\u00edas, continuar\u00e1s hacia el parque para realizar la \u00faltima caminata. Este sendero de aproximadamente dos horas transcurre entre vegetaci\u00f3n de matorral preandino, ofreciendo vistas espectaculares de los Cuernos del Paine y el Almirante Nieto.<\/p>

Al llegar a tu destino, descender\u00e1s a la costa del Lago Sarmiento, donde tendr\u00e1s la oportunidad de explorar incre\u00edbles formaciones rocosas de carbonato de calcio que se han formado a lo largo del tiempo.
